Quick Questing (Everquest 2 stats)

August 26th, 2008

One thing not mentioned in the player handbook (may have been added as a feature after printing) is the ability to use Waypoints. Waypoints are located under the EQII menu in game, and are SUPER for finishing quests quickly! I gained 2 levels (7-9) in Scout in under an hour. Waypoints will show you all the zone gates, shops, and significant locations in a zone (doesn't work for dungeons or adventure areas.. Sorry!).

Click on EQ2 button, click on Waypoints, select the gate or shop you need to finish your quest, and follow the gold trail… yes it's that easy. It's also a great way to see what zones lead to what other zones. For example, it appears that all zones lead to Qeynos Harbor, so running there first gets you about anywhere you need to go quickly.

If you're a Scout, it get's even better… use Track and select NPCs to quickly find the people you need to talk to to finish a quest.

Artisans Easy Silver (Everquest 2 Zone Map)

August 24th, 2008

Threadbare Thread (I think it is lvl 3 recipe) sells to the merchant on IoR for 1s 7c. It costs 42c and 3 roots to make 2 of them.

Buy a candle and a liquid for 7cp each. Use those and 1 root to make chloro oil, if you make shaped you get 2, if you can make pristine you get 4. Now buy 2 filaments (if you got the shaped (2) bottles) and use 1 filament, one chloro oil and one root to make a thread. Once you can get pristine chloro oil (4 bottles) every time the profit gets even better. Made ~45s using this last night before I left the Island. Good starting money.

August 22nd, 2008

On the Isle of Refuge, you can get a medium bag. This all bags you can buy currently are small.

Here is how to get it.

In the last camp, there is a named mob called a Goblin Planner. He will drop a medium size bag. He spawns right in front of the tent about every 5th pop.

It's at 168,0,-173 on the Refuge Island.

Key to Fallen Gate Quest (Sell EQ2 Account)

August 20th, 2008

The quest begins with

Kanos X'aphon in North Freeport. He is right next to the Theives way (Alt-W) to find it.

Talk to him to begin the quest.

He will tell you to talk to Tundis N'oxyle in the Commonlands about joining the Thexians.

When you talk to Tundis N'oxyle he will ask you to kill 5 sand giants (right there beside you) to prove your worth to the Thexians.

When you kill them, go back to Tundis N'oxyle.

He will then tell you that they are having a meeting to officially join you to their ranks.

So, head next back to Kanos X'aphon to receive your key.

Oh, Tundis N'oxyle is located VERY west in commons from West freeport at the entrance to the Fallen Gate zone. His exact location is:

X:1,487

Z:-38

Y:-391.

The easiest way to reach him is to head due west. You will eventually see the Griffon Tower. Follow the wall just a tad and you will see the Torchured Souls Tower. Keep following the wall and you will enter a maze of passages with sand giants in them. Just say on the rightmost pathway. You will reach the Entrance to FG.

To continue, when you talk to Kanos X'aphon again, he will tell you that to get the key you must kill the current Thexian leader for his key.

If you talk to Kanos X'aphon again, he will teleport you to the meeting house. It is a really BAD place. You will be surrounded by 4 mobs instantly.

Final Notes

The house is full of 3+ mob encounters.

You get ganked when you zone. Atlest one is a healer, so target him first if you can. They are all named the same, so it is hard to tell the healer apart from the rest.

The named you want is at the top of the house. 3 flights of stairs, and 4 sets of mobs. You can rest between fights, so dont worry about blasting away.

At the top of the stairs, it is a little bugged in that sometimes a mob will get stuck in a wall. Be sure to use assist on the person getting killed and you cant fight back until you do.

Kill the named. She will drop a ring. I cant remeber her name exactly , but it was Iana something. She drops a nice ring too.

On your way out of the house, talk to the NPC again and he will give you a cap for your reward and some coin.

Thats it. You now have access to the Fallen Gate Epic zone.

Harvest with No Danger (EQ2 Access quests)

August 17th, 2008

This is a VERY easy way to harvest, gather, and mine and not put yourself in danger of aggressive mobs. Will also cut down harvesting and mining time

It's as simple as this, hit your K button for your skills and go to abilities then drag your gathering, mining, foresting etc to a hot key location. After doing this you'll be able to use these abilities as far as the eye can see (results may vary based on your computer settings ). But only by using the hotkey assigned button will this work.

Hope this helps and keeps my fellow MPS players out of harms way.

How to: fast gold at low levels (Eq II Gold)

August 14th, 2008

So you make a new toon and have no gold? here is how i go from 0 to a good 50 gold without any exploit or cheat, just a few tricks.

the trick is to watch the market

first you need to make some money to start with, what i do is go out and kill everything, sewers are a good place to do this.

make about 50 silver then go to the broker, search for armor type under 50 silver with the level range 40-60 (if you find anything, buy it and sell it) this usually sells for 5-25 gold. (ive gotten lucky and bought vendor loot armors that have sold for over 20 gold)

use other filters in search, like Legendary or Fabled (my brother infront of my eyes bought 2 fabled items worth over 3 platinum each for 3 silver each) people sometimes tired, stoned, drunk etc… will click silver icon instead of platinum because it looks the same.

i have bought 3 crafted ebon items for 1.5 silver a piece when they should have been 1.5p.

just watch the market, and proffit off of other peoples mistakes, each time i go to the broker i do this, even tho i am level 47 now… its still a good way to make money of of other peoples mistakes.

Little Revenge, (Kill Other Players Easily) (Everquest 2 freeport)

August 12th, 2008

Ever been ninja ganked on a named you've been camping for hours?

While they are fighting, go get aggro from a nearby mob, without engaging it and have it start chasing you. Then use the old 'super jump' (that doesn't work anymore) technique to force yourself to lag by clicking and holding your click on the title bar in windowed mode. Hold the click on the title bar far as long as you think it will take the mob to run past you, and onto the group that just ninja'd your named (usually about 10 secs). When you let go of the click the mob will be right in the middle of their group, and since it isn't engaged, their tank will pick it up with a taunt or AOE.

It's a little on the vindictive side, and probably against the rules, but so is half the other stuff in here, lol. I used to use it to escape mobs when I was getting close to dying, before it became so easy to just run from them.

Timestamps (Eq2 dirge)

August 9th, 2008

IF you knew me in-game, you would know that, statisticly speaking, if you see me logged on, theres a greater chance that I'm AFK than not. Far too often, I come back to see a tell, or some chat I missed. It helps to know just when that was said (replying to somthing said in a chat channel an hour ago is not the best way to make yourself look cool). OR….

Your camping a named mob on a timer. You forgot to check the time the last time you killed it.

Solution: /chat_show_time 1
turns on timestamps ala eq1.

Trick: Max safe fall (Eq2 tradeskills)

August 7th, 2008

I don't know if anyone has written anything on this yet.
Well, I didn't find much on this matter, and as I got Safe Fall from 150 to 250 in about 2 hours, i wanted to share my newly aquired knowledge

1.) Do NOT wear any equipment. Not only will it cost to repair in case you die, but your health regen is better the lower your max health is.
2.) Buy crafted food. you need good regen for less downtime.

The place to do this is the mage tower in south qeynos. There is no other place where you can raise safe fall that fast. Not even close.
You need around 140 on Safe Fall for the mage tower. You can raise the skill to 140 on the cliff in cl or the hill in antonica to thundering steppes. Its not that hard.
Oh yeah, its not that bad if you die. The respawnloc is quite near, and you are at max health again.

If you are evil: There are no guards inside the tower. i guess there must be a possibility getting there since there are other quests in there.

Now, enter the blue portal, turn to our right, jump down to the small ledge then jump down to the ground. You should land directly next or on the blue porter if you are skilled enough in navigating through the air (bomber pilot) Immediatly, reenter the blue portal.
Don't jump down to the ground directly, it will kill you at the moment.
At the beginning, this will hurt you. watch your health and decide if you would survive another jump. If you won't, wait a bit. Don't panic, it will get much easier.
Once you hit the sweet spot where you regenerate your health faster than you take damage, you can jump without interrupts, about 15 times per minute. This is around 160 Safe Fall. It will go up very fast from now on. I got about 2 skillups per minute. Once you are around 205 on Safe Fall, you can try the bigger jump, from blue porter directly down to earth. Once again, you will take big damage, but you won't have to wait now. While you regenerate your health, go for the smaller jumps which won't do any damage, and still give skillups sometimes. If you are at full health again, try the big jump another time.
Around 220-230 the smaller jumps wont give any skillups, so use the direct jump only. From now on, its quite easy, just jump down to blue porter, enter, jump. I still got about 1 skillup per minute. this jump is effective until you hit 250.
Congratulations, you can jump down the Zek lookout tower now!
